TECC59 Birthday Wishes

Wow! Has it really been a week since I have posted? It's been pretty busy around here, so I was happy to get some stamping in this weekend. Here's my card for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. I love these new Stampendous sets and cling mount stamps. I got a few on my trip to one of my favorite stamp stores, so you will be seeing more Stampendous this week. This sketch was a great one to use The Sweet Stack (DCWV) paper pack I have been hoarding. LOL! I also paper pieced the apron and popped up the cake for dimension. I really like how the cake sparkles. I LOVE Stickles. Hope you are having a fab weekend and thanks for visiting me.

TECC58 For Peeks Sake

For Peeps Sake! Can I get any closer to the deadline? My Peeps kept trying to come out of their cello wrap, so I had to seal them them in tight. So tight that their sugar is going crazy in their package. I love sugar, but the funny thing is I really love the sugar-free Peeps more than the regular ones. LOL! I think they taste sweeter. Did you also know that a lot of people like to eat Peeps stale? I never had a stale one. Can you tell I went to the Peeps site? There are a lot of fun facts about them. If you get a chance you got to check them out. So in honor of my love of Peeps, here is my card for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge #58. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and thanks for visiting.

CCB01 / SC218 Berry Best Birthday!

Hola! Is everyone having a berry nice day? Here is my card for CCB's very first challenge. Woo Hoo! Thanks Molly for being a fabulous hostess! The challenge was to make a card about yourself. I chose to make a card using things that I love. I LOVE Strawberry Shortcake (the original)! I was thrilled to receive her on Christmas morning back in the 80's. I would not stop smelling her hair. I also received a couple of her friends and you know it the Strawberry house. I was a total nut that morning. I am still a nut over her. I look real professional at work with my huge Strawberry Shortcake calendar in my cubicle. I really wish I still had my original doll. My mom probably convinced me to donate it, so some nice little girl could enjoy it. What was I thinking? LOL! I hope she went to a nice home. I also used some of my other favorites. Bo Bunny and Polka Dots! I know you are probably sick of that paper by now. But they have way too many colors with polka dots. Killer combo! I also used my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folder and lots of brads. I used the SCS sketch callenge #218 to put it all together. Hope I met the challenge to let you know a little bit about me. Thanks for visiting and Have a Berry Nice Day!

:) Rachel Shortcake

p.s. I copied the image and pasted it on a Word document, so I could change the size of the image.

JSWAP209 Block of Friends

Hello! I was able to participate in another one of Jami's wonderful SCS swaps. I knew I wanted the card to have the look of a quilt, but wasn't sure at first what I was going to do. I decided upon scoring the patterned paper to give the quilted pattern. I then added the blocks in the center, scoring between the blocks and finally piercing the scores for faux stitching. I was happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it too. Have a great day and thanks for visiting me! Check back tomorrow as I will be posting my Creatively Cute Bloggers Challenge Card. The challenge is to create a card about yourself. Well seeing that it is due tomorrow and I am posting it on the deadline tells you I like to wait until the last minute. I love pressure! LOL!

SFYTT Here for you

Hello! Are you watching Bachelor tonight? I am anxiously waiting for Mike to get home, so we can watch the Finale. I thought I should post this week's SFYTT card, since the Stickles has dried by now. I posted it this morning on SCS, but I forgot to attach the button. I put pics of both options. Not sure which one I like better. I do love the Platinum Stickles. That darn bottle got clogged and then I remembered a tip I got from my local scrapbook store. They said to run a paperclip down the hole in the tip. They said a pin was not wide enough and that a paperclip is just the perfect size. Worked like a charm! So I will have to remember to keep one with my class supplies. This card was very easy, since there was no coloring involved. I just stamped the image in Chocolate Chip and sponged the edges with Baja Breeze & Basic Brown. Those SU! speciality papers are fabulous. I love the texture! Hope you like it and thanks for visiting me. :) Rach
